Back to Nature Apparel

Announcing a New Partnership

Being a regular poster on social media, I have received quite a number of requests to be a brand ambassador for various products.  With one very notable exception, these have been scams.  I did not have anything in common with these brands.  I have quickly got in the habit of automatically deleting requests to be a "brand ambassador" from unknown sources.

After ignoring one such request, a second request from a company named "Back to Nature Apparel" caught my attention. First of all,  they had NATURE in their business name.  Secondly, I recognized that we were already following each other on Instagram.  I went to their Instagram account and recalled why I was following them.  Owners Keltie & Stan Masters are local wildlife photographers who have taken some amazing photographs of our iconic wildlife species including wolves, bears, moose, deer and also birds and wild horses.  I happen to have a strong weakness for wild horses and wolves, by the way.   Keltie and Stan have reproduced some of their wonderful wildlife photography onto clothing and accessories.  These fashions definitely appeal to me, as I am sure they will appeal to my nature-loving followers!

Next, I visited Keltie and Stan's website where I was pleasantly surprised to learn about how their business started and their various sponsorships of non-profit wildlife organizations.  Back to Nature got started after Keltie and Stan travelled to Churchill, MB to see polar bears (I have wanted to do that trip for years!!!) where they got to photograph these amazing animals. "Their trip to see the polar bears not only opened their eyes to the beauty of this barren land and its amazing wildlife but seeing the impact of their declining environment left a profound affect on both Stan and Keltie. They knew then, that they needed to help make a difference in preserving the delicate balance of nature and the human impact."

Back to Nature Wildlife donates 10% of their profits annually to an array of wildlife centres and conservation organizations.  They have also worked with the Friends of Kananakis over the past year.  Their involvement has lead to some rewarding wildlife opportunities including fostering 8 baby great horned owlets.  Here is a business that truly gives "back to nature" in a significant way!

Recently, I had the chance to meet Keltie and Stan briefly, to see their work firsthand and discuss a partnership.

I am thrilled to announce that I am commencing my role as a brand ambassador for Back to Nature Apparel in additon to continuing to promote Alchemy of Ride's colurful active wear.  The first pieces of apparel I will be showcasing for Back to Nature Apparel are a beanie and matching face mask featuring one of my favourite birds..... the cheery and chirpy chickadee.   I have always loved this little bird that is with us year-round.  The beanie is warm and comfy, while the matching face mask is well constructed and a good fit, with adjustable straps.  It includes a sleeve for inserting a filter and it comes with two PM2.5 filters.

I am so excited to see how this partnership with kindred spirits will develop. Stay tuned! In the mean time, here is the link for you to check out Back to Nature Apparel.  Follow them on Facebook and Instagram too.

Back to Nature Apparel shares a very similar philosphy to Active by Nature. I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment:

“By interacting with nature, spending time in it and appreciating it, we can all reap the benefits of feeling happier and healthier as a result. If we can help people reconnect with nature, it’s not just good for them, but it’s great for the environment. The result is a reciprocal relationship because the more people care for and appreciate the positive impact nature has on their lives, the more likely they will want to protect it.” - Stan Masters

What to wear & bring (Spring, Summer, Fall):

  1. Wear comfy casual clothes.
  2. Bring a warm extra layer & rain jacket, just in case.
  3. Running shoes are fine while light trail or hiking shoes provide even more support and are ideal.
  4. Please no flip-flops or sandals.
  5. Leave purses at home. A small backpack is a great bring-along.
  6. Don't forget your water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, insect repellent and your camera.

What to wear & bring (Winter):

  1. Wear a long sleeve t-shirt/thermal underwear top plus 1 or 2 layers (i.e.: light fleece top, heavier fleece top) & a wind/waterproof shell. Heavy winter parkas and snow pants are usually too warm.
  2. Wear winter boots or lined hiking boots. Icers, which go over your footwear to prevent slipping, are provided when necessary.
  3. Leave purses at home. A small backpack is a great bring-along.
  4. Bring water, gloves/mitts, a hat/headband, scarf/buff/neck warmer, tissues/handkerchief, sunglasses and don't forget your camera!
