1 Hour Nordic Walk + 1 Hour Scenic Bow River Float

1 Hour Nordic Walk + 1 Hour Scenic Bow River Float

This summer, Active by Nature is partnering with Canmore Raft Tours to offer an exciting new adventure package. Join Active by Nature for an invigorating 60 minute experience focusing on learning the technique of Nordic walking. Nordic walking turbo-charges a simple walk, turning it into a total-body workout. You will be amazed! After learning the technique on Canmore’s Main St., you will be led on a picturesque walk along the Bow River, upstream of the raft tour route.

Canmore Raft Tours’ “The Townie” offers guests an opportunity to see Canmore in all its grandeur and beauty from the perspective of the river. During this tour you will explore the natural and cultural histories of the valley and see how the urban and natural attributes of this mountain town have learned to co-exist. Elk, beaver, eagles, deer and even bear have been seen along this section of the Bow River. Bring along a camera and a sense of adventure and join Canmore Raft Tours on the river!

This combination of a walk and a float is offered daily from 12:45 pm to 3:00 pm. The cost is $70 + GST. The meeting place is the Tour Canmore office, 1 – 702 Main St.

What to wear & bring (Spring, Summer, Fall):

  • Wear comfy casual clothes.
  • Bring a warm extra layer & rain jacket, just in case.
  • Running shoes are fine while light trail or hiking shoes provide even more support and are ideal.
  • Please no flip-flops or sandals.
  • Leave purses at home. A small backpack is a great bring-along.
  • Don’t forget your water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, insect repellent and your camera.

To minimize the risk of COVID-19, group size is being limited to 8 persons. Physical distancing will be maintained between non-family/friend members on the walk. It is advisable to wear a mask if the pedestrian and walking path are very busy. A personal face mask must be worn in the boat if not part of a private group, and all guests must wear a personal face mask in the shuttle van. We ask guests who are experiencing cold symptoms and symptoms of COVID-19 to stay home and practice self-isolation under the direction of the appropriate governing body. Guests must self-screen the morning of the tour for any COVID-19 symptoms (we recommend taking your temperature to check for a fever).

Any guests exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed on the walk or on the raft. A full refund will be issued with 24 hours or more notice.
