Kananaskis Country is 4,000 sq kilometres of sprawling wilderness bordering Banff National Park and Canmore. This unspoiled, untamed landscape is equally as spectacular as neighbouring Banff, with a fraction of the visitors. You could spend a lifetime exploring the magnificent hiking trails it encompasses!
Active by Nature has permits for leading guiding hikes on the following K-Country trails:
- Grassi Lakes (within the Town of Canmore)
- Cougar Creek – starting from the Cougar Creek Trailhead in Canmore
- High Rockies Trail from the Goat Creek Trailhead
- Chester Lake
- Watridge Lake & Karst Spring Trail
- Gallatea Creek Trail to Lillian Lake

Guests must provide their own transportation to the trailhead for these hikes.
Monthly scheduled tours are planned for the summer of 2019 to Grassi Lakes and Chester Lake. See the calendar below. To reserve, simply click on different dates on the calendar first to see what is available then select the experience you would like to reserve, fill in your personal details and then make a secure payment via credit card. The system will automatically send you a confirmation of your session with the relevant details.

Please review this questionnaire if you have concerns about your health or fitness level for participating in Nordic walking.
Full refunds are given if a cancellation is received 48 hours or more prior to the clinic or tour date. No refunds are given with less than 48 hours notice. Clinics/tours go rain or shine. If the weather is extreme, then it may be cancelled with a full refund given.
