Active by Nature is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, in the spectacular mountain town of Canmore, Alberta. Formed in 2007 by sole proprietor, Mandy Johnson, Active by Nature offers NORDIC WALKING, WALKING & HIKING TOURS, year-round.
NORDIC WALKING: Nordic Walking mimics cross-country skiing, but without the skis! It TURBO CHARGES walking, turning into a total body workout that utilizes virtually every muscle in your body in a gentle yet effective way. It promotes good posture, burns MEGA CALORIES, provides exceptional stability on all sorts of terrain, and off-loads stress from the lower body. Active by Nature offers 1.5 & 2 hour Nordic walking tours in Canmore.
WALKING TOURS: Canmore's network of recreational trails is a walker's paradise! There are over 160 kilometres of trails within the town boundaries. But with limited time, most visitors are at a loss as to where to start. A guided, interpretive walking tour is an ideal way to experience the world's favourite form of physical activity and learn all about this awesome mountain town.
GUIDED HIKES: Kananaskis Country is 4,000 sq kilometres of sprawling wilderness bordering Banff National Park and Canmore. This unspoiled, untamed landscape is equally as spectacular as neighbouring Banff, with a fraction of the visitors. Active by Nature leads guided hikes in K-Country. In the winter some of the outings make use of ice cleats (provided) while others turn into snowshoe hikes.
